"Tech for local news"
This is a team project by Roah Rush, AV Taylor, Andrew Koo, and me. We build a tool that empowers local publishers to quantify and synthesize their information of value to subscribers, advertisers and potential funders. After industry research and interviewing local news publishers aross the country, we propose this win-win solution that align the incentives of foundations and hyperlocal news publishers.

Ethical risk zones:
- Data control & monetization: Publishers will always own their own data
- Implicit trust & user understanding: We will not add extrinsic motivators to encourage gamification of metrics
- Machine ethics & algorithmic biases: ML accuracy will be evaluated across representative segmentations
